The Selection

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information The Selection (the website at theselection.studio and its browser extension, together the “Service”) collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read. By using the Service you agree to it. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

In short: we collect only what we need to run the Service, we don’t sell your information, we don’t show ads, and we don’t use advertising or tracking tools.

1. Who we are

The Selection is a specification-book tool for interior designers, operated from Florida, United States. For any privacy question, including requests about your data, write to ffe.specbook@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

Using the Service without an account. Your projects and library stay in your own browser, on your device. They are not sent to our servers (except as described in section 4), and they can be lost if you clear your browser’s data.

Account information. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google, to identify your account. We never receive your Google password.

Content you create. When signed in, we store what you add so it is available on your devices:

Information about your clients. Projects may include a client’s or a project’s name and address. You decide what to enter, and you are responsible for having the right to enter it. We process it only to provide the Service to you.

Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical data when you use the Service, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps, for security, reliability and troubleshooting.

Cookies. We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect your session. We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.

3. How we use information

We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use your content to train artificial intelligence models.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on these legal bases: performing our contract with you (providing the Service), our legitimate interests (security, reliability and improving the Service), your consent (where we ask for it), and legal obligations.

4. Reading product pages

When you paste a product link, our server opens that page to read the product’s details. Product photos are loaded through our server so they can be placed in your PDFs. If a store blocks this, a public image service (wsrv.nl) may be used to fetch the photo; it receives only the photo’s web address.

5. The browser extension

6. Who we share information with

We share information only with the providers that help us run the Service:

These providers may only use the information to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect people’s safety or our rights, or in connection with a sale or reorganization of the Service (we would tell you first).

Sharing a project. Projects are private to you. If you create an invite link, anyone who has it can open that project with the access you chose (editor or view-only). People you share with can see the project’s content and the names and pictures of its collaborators. You can stop sharing at any time.

7. International transfers

Our providers process information in the United States and possibly other countries. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed there. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

8. How long we keep information

We keep your account and content while your account is open. When you delete a project or product, it is removed from the active database. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account and content within 30 days. Copies may remain for a limited time in encrypted backups before they are overwritten, and we may keep limited information when the law requires it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures, such as encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls, to protect your information. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your Google account secure and turn on 2-step verification.

10. Your rights and choices

You can edit or delete any project or product directly in the app. You may also ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, or delete your account and all its content. Write to ffe.specbook@gmail.com from the email you signed in with, and we will respond within 30 days.

Residents of the EEA and the UK also have the right to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with their local data-protection authority.

Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws may have the right to know what personal information we hold, to have it deleted or corrected, and to not be discriminated against for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it.

Because we don’t track you across other websites, we don’t respond to “Do Not Track” signals differently.

11. Prices and product information

Prices, photos and details come from each store’s website at the moment you clip them and can change at any time. They are shown for reference. Always check the store before buying or sending a document to a client.

12. Children

The Selection is a professional tool and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

13. Links to other sites

The Service links to stores and other websites we don’t control. We are not responsible for their privacy practices; please read their policies.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top of this page, and for important changes we may also notify you by email or in the app. Using the Service after a change means you accept it.

15. Contact

Questions or requests about your information: ffe.specbook@gmail.com.
